I'm Carlos Marques, a motion designer based in Lisbon freelancing for studios and agencies worldwide since 2012.
After graduating I started my career in 2008 at a web agency, creating animations with ActionScript for websites and web games.
By 2012, I had taken on my first full-time position as a motion designer at a sports TV channel, and a year later, I joined Nebula Studios.
After 4 years of significant learning, with projects ranging from TV commercials, brand activations, broadcast visuals for World Cups and Euro, video clips, live visuals, etc, I thought it would be exciting to try something new. And in 2016, co-founded a motion design studio with my friend João, Check it Out Studio.
From 2018 to 2020, I took on the role of lecturer and coordinator for the Motion Design course at the Lisbon School of Design (Porto).
Now I'm just freelancing for good people and pushing boundaries to craft my work.
I am currently based in Gesso Ateliers - a cozy, beautiful and friendly coworking space, surrounded by many talented people.
I'm a father of a girl, play drums almost every Wednesday, ride a fancy motorcycle, have an old HYMER motorhome, and enjoy traveling and attending concerts.
